Pau Lopez was among the substitutes for Spain Under-21s as they got their European Under-21 Championship campaign off to a fine start with a 5-0 thrashing of FYR Macedonia in Poland on Saturday night.
The goalkeeper, who joined us on loan from La Liga side Espanyol at the beginning of last season, saw his nation rocket to the top of their group as a result, with Portugal defeating Serbia 2-0 elsewhere in the same pool.
Athletic Bilbao stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga was preferred between the sticks on this occasion but Pau, 22, will be hoping to see action when Spain meet Portugal on Tuesday and Serbia on Friday (both kick-off 7.45pm UK time).
